Direct Memory Access (DMA)

DIRECT MEMORY ACCESS (DMA) is a circuit by which a high speed transfer of information may be facilitated between a device and system memory. This transfer is managed by a specialized processor that relieves the burden of managing the transfer from the main CPU.
